Our Story

(A tale of tragedy, innovation, and a paperback called George.)

Once upon a bus ride, a perfectly good paperback got trashed in a backpack. His name was George. He didn’t make it. Bent cover. Cracked spine. Coffee splash. Gone too soon.

We knew there had to be a better way. Something tougher than a cloth sleeve. Something that actually protected books — like armour. But sleek. Stylish. Fun. A paperback protector that didn’t look like it came from a camping store.

So we designed the Book Eddie:

  • A hard shell for softcovers

  • A slip-on case that fits most paperbacks

  • Expandable spine, comfy grip, full concealment (because not every book needs to be a conversation starter)

Made right here in Australia and shipped in its own little pouch like the treasure it is.

We're SRMB Enterprises — a book-loving bunch with a wild idea, and zero patience for creased covers.

As for the name? During the endless rounds of prototyping (and failing, and retrying), we kept thinking of Thomas Edison. When asked about his many failures, he famously said, "I haven’t failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work."

Same vibe. So in his honour, we called it the Book Eddie.

Thanks for supporting a small business with big bookworm energy.
